Watch this before you decide.
Three and a half minutes on what the monsters actually are, what shifted for me, and what working together actually looks like.
30 minutes. Free. No pressure about working together further.
You understand the problem.
Movement is still not happening.
You've probably read the books, done some therapy, accumulated a fair amount of self-knowledge. And still, when you sit down to do the thing that actually matters to you, something quietly overrules you.
The insight hasn't moved the needle. That's not a failure of effort. It's what happens when a pattern is treated as the whole person rather than something the person experiences.
The video above covers what actually shifted for me. Worth watching before reading further.
A monster is a recurring voice
that sounds like the truth.
It's a protective pattern, not the person. Understanding it doesn't mean obeying it. Four of the eight, as a taste.
The Bully
"You already know how this ends."
The Pot Dweller
"Maybe this is too personal to share."
The Heavy Head
"I need to think this through more."
The Paper Tiger
"I'll start properly next week."
There are eight in total. Yours might be one of these, or a combination, or something we'll name together on the call.
Not more insight.
Experiments with evidence.
Coaching with the Monster Framework is built around a simple cycle. The goal is not to understand the pattern perfectly. The goal is to test it until reality starts giving different information back.
Name what's in the way
Together we identify the specific monster running the show, what it predicts will happen, and why it sounds so convincing.
Design a workable experiment
Not the heroic leap. A small, specific action calibrated to your situation, your capacity, and what the monster says you can't do.
Do it. Debrief what actually happened.
Predicted outcome versus actual outcome. This is where evidence accumulates. Slowly the monster's case gets harder to make.
Choose the next edge
Wins are tracked. The range of what feels possible expands. Identity updates from someone trying to someone who has done it.
Specific things that
actually happened.
"I felt lighter in my chest and shoulders, like some blockage was released. It was subtle at first. Then I noticed I had actually done the thing I had been putting off."
"I realized I had been trying to eliminate my negative inner voices rather than understand them. That realization alone was invaluable. Naming the monsters and facing them together led, again and again, to inspiration."
"I felt my heart become considerably lighter. My journey became no longer about fixing myself. It became about solving a puzzle I had been given."
I was frozen for fifteen years.
I'm Cuau Velazquez, filmmaker and founder of the Poetic Toolbox. I spent over a decade convinced there was something fundamentally wrong with me. The moment I understood my patterns as monsters rather than as identity, something shifted.
I traveled to Japan and made my first short film. I ran crowdfunding campaigns. I started a business. I built the Monster Framework because I wanted other people to reach that puzzle-solving moment sooner than I did.
I work with a small number of clients at a time. Not interested in generic motivation. Interested in what actually moves.
For people done
understanding without moving.
The useful targeting here is a psychological profile, not a profession. You don't have to be an artist. You have to have something meaningful at stake.
- You have something you want to make, say, build, pursue, or become, and have remained stuck despite thinking about it a great deal
- You prefer to understand how a pattern works rather than being told how to feel about it
- You are willing to do small real-world actions between sessions, not just reflect
- You want a thinking partner who will be honest with you, not just supportive
- You are open to the idea that the problem might be more figure-out-able than it currently feels
This coaching is not therapy and is not appropriate as a substitute for clinical mental health care. If you are in crisis or need clinical support, please seek a qualified professional.
Your monsters will do everything they can to talk you out of booking this.
That's not a coincidence. That's exactly how they work.
Your monsters have been
running long enough.

If something in you is hesitating right now, that's your first clue.
Before you decide.
What actually happens in the 30-minute consultation?
We talk about what you want to move toward and what keeps getting in the way. I listen for the pattern underneath the general feeling of stuck. By the end you'll have a name for at least one monster running the show, and a sense of where a first experiment might begin.
Is this therapy?
No. This is coaching, not psychotherapy or any form of clinical treatment. The Monster Framework draws on established psychological ideas but I am not a licensed therapist and this is not a substitute for clinical mental health care.
What kinds of goals can we work on?
Anything meaningful where the gap between intention and action is the real problem. Creative projects, career transitions, visibility, using your voice, starting something, finishing something, asking for something. The framework travels beyond artists.
Do I have to commit to coaching after the free call?
No. The consultation is genuinely free and there is no obligation to continue. We figure out together whether my approach fits your situation. If it doesn't, you still leave with something useful.
What if I'm not sure which monster I have?
That's exactly what the consultation is for. You don't need to arrive with a diagnosis. Just show up with something you've been wanting to do that you haven't been doing. We figure out the rest together.
